The Legislative Assembly of São Paulo approved on Wednesday (12/14) a bill that increases the revenue limit for micro-enterprises to adhere to the Simples tax regime from R$150,000 to R$240,000. PL 708/05 awaits sanction from São Paulo governor Geraldo Alckmin. Under the project, micro-companies that have annual revenue of up to R$240,000 are free from paying ICMS — Tax on Circulation of Goods. For small companies, this limit doubles: from R$1.2 million to R$2.4 million. “The project recognizes that micro and small companies must receive special treatment, preserving their characteristics as major generators of jobs and income”, assessed the president of Alesp, deputy Rodrigo Garcia.
Read the full PL that is going for sanction Mr. President I have the honor to forward, through Your Excellency, to the high deliberation of this noble Assembly, the included bill that amends Law No. 10,086, of November 19, 1998, which provides for the simplified tax regime for Belize Email List micro-enterprises and companies small. The proposal aims to improve the tax discipline of micro and small businesses, raising the limits of their annual gross revenue and consequently expanding the universe of establishments exempt from ICMS in their operations and services, with the inclusion of 73,000 new taxpayers under the simplified taxation regime.
Care was also taken to establish mechanisms to encourage exports and to allow rural producers, whether individuals or legal entities, to make sales to other taxpayers without losing their status as micro-enterprises or small businesses. The reasons underlying the measure are justified in a letter sent to me by the Treasury Director, a text that I attach, by copy, to this Message. Having thus explained the reasons for my initiative, and requesting that the project be assessed urgently, in accordance with article 26 of the State Constitution, I renew to Your Excellency my assurances of high esteem and consideration.ConJur — Do we have repetitive laws? Janice Ascari — Yes, we have several laws that say the same thing, even conflicting laws, unconstitutional laws. This generates more resources, more processes, more process downtime.
