Revelation shows the future of the true church, after enough people start practicing the Gospel. Jesus' speaking to the 7 churches shows stages of spiritual growth in full release and expression of the Spirit as we overcome each stage until we sit with Jesus on His throne. These overcomers are the body of the manchild, Jesus' son in Rev. 12:5 & Isa. 66:7-8.
